Why I Dislike Christmas Very Much

As an adult, it is easy to dislike Christmas. I am from a small family with no children, so getting together for Christmas is more of like a routine than a sparkly tradition. Even if there were children, seeing children happy during Christmas doesn’t really bring me much joy. Because most children during Christmas are really nothing more than selfish little imps. I know I was. They are happy because they expect a lot of gifts. Explain to a 6 year old that they should be very happy to have a family & food & they don’t need any gifts. Adults who also expect things in forms of extra pay & such dismay me much. I hate generic holiday greetings. Greet people personally, not through mass texts. Mass texts are so idiotic. I hate all the waste this season creates. So much pretty wrapping paper torn away & food that isn’t completely consumed. The Christmas spirit everyone harps about is mostly about consumerism. For the very few who look at Christmas as a time of reflection & gratitude whether to God as your provider or for the universe for all it’s complication & simplicity… bless you. I also hate my own hypocrisy. Even if I always give my Chirstmas shopping budget to charity, I couldn’t stop myself from buying unnecessary things still… curse you 75% off Transformers! Grar.
